Elder flowers and berry, elderberry shrub

Potted plant. Pickup only from Centrelea NS.

The Paw Paw (Asimina triloba) is a native North American / Turtle Island tree with a rich history as a traditional food source among Indigenous peoples, prized for its unique, custard-like fruit that tastes like a blend of banana and mango.

The seedling will require protection from full sun for the first few years and then will be most productive in full sun, although will happily grow in deep shade to dappled sun. Happiest next to water ways with moist soils, but survives in our sandy loam soils even during droughts!

Mature Height: 15 - 20 feet

Hardiness Zone: 5 - 9

Pollination: 2 trees are needed for fruit production.

Gene Source: Grimo nursery.
