2025 was an existential year.

As we reflect on the year, especially the growing season, we are grounded and affirmed in Floreren Farm and community.

We deepen our commitment to what we do–joyfully growing plants to restore people's health and the land. Growing for food sovereignty and striving to implement agroecological principles.

We celebrate the people without whom we could not do what we do: our extended family and friends, you herbal enthusiasts, the amazing herbalists, planters of nut trees and fruit shrubs, and the collective of diverse people that make up our community. So much love to the beyond human beings and parts of this ecology we call home.

We raise up the collective responses to crises: inter-provincial fire fighter supports with wild fires, the creation of mutual aid herb clinics, the coming together of community members to meet the needs of those displaced by catastrophe, and the policy level changes. As well as the ongoing work, especially the coming together of all of us with common concerns in coalitions of people power to make the change we want to see.

We honour and more than ever protect the Indigenous-led phrase that “Water Is Life”.

Looking into 2026, there is nothing we’d rather be doing then working together with all of you to ground more deeply into our collective work for healthier relationships with the land, water, air, and each other. It is extremely affirming to be so supported by you in our endeavors to make this farm a part of this community, this ecology.
